Your Mac stays yours
Studio Rinse Lite scans file metadata locally, including names, paths, sizes, dates and ownership, to suggest eligible cleanup. The app does not upload your files or scan results. The app has no account, advertising, analytics SDK or payment service and does not require a network connection for scans or cleanup.
Permission and control
macOS controls folder access. You may decline access or change it in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Custom creative-cache folders are connected only when you choose them in My setup; a saved local bookmark allows the app to reopen that location. Disconnect a folder or remove a Keep this protection in My setup. Removing protection requires a fresh scan. Optional Start at login uses Apple's Service Management to register this app for your account; you can turn it off in the app or Login Items settings. It does not grant additional file access. Nothing cleans automatically.
What stays on this Mac
Appearance and creative-tool choices, preferences and up to 60 aggregate check-in records are stored locally using macOS preferences. These records include storage and workload signals, dates and cleanup totals, without file names. The app keeps your setup, protected paths and connected folder bookmarks, plus up to 30 cleanup receipts, in your user's Application Support/StudioRinse folder. Receipts include original file paths, dates, outcomes and totals. Those JSON files use owner-only file permissions. Scan details stay in memory until the app closes.
Retention and deletion
Older check-ins and receipts roll off when the limits are reached. You can forget receipts and check-ins using the controls below; this removes those local records only, not files in Trash. Setup remains until you disconnect folders or remove saved protections. Uninstalling the app may leave preferences and Application Support data; contact support for help removing those local settings. We cannot remotely access or erase your Mac's records.
Exports, notifications and support
Scan reports are saved only when you choose Export. They include folder paths; review them before sharing. Optional low-space notifications use Apple's local notification service while Studio Rinse runs. You can disable them in the app or macOS. If you email support, we receive what you send, including your address and any attachments, through our email provider. Send only information needed for help; email us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to applicable recordkeeping obligations.
Website and future services
This policy describes the Studio Rinse Lite macOS app. App Store purchases are processed by Apple under its own policies. We do not receive your payment-card details through the app. Website hosting may process technical request information such as IP addresses to deliver pages. Email support processes what you choose to send. Material policy changes will appear with an updated date.
